The Evolution
Over time, my fascination with the warmth of flame and the power of scent sparked a new creative path: hand-poured candles. Each one became an experiment in harmony—balancing waxes, wicks, fragrances, and vessels to evoke comfort and calm. Like the cards, the candles began as gifts. But their reach quietly grew. Friends insisted on paying. Stories followed.
The scent of a Bold Bungalow candle in someone’s home became a signature—one that speaks of care, connection, and atmosphere.
Why “Bold Bungalow”?
The name is rooted in my childhood summers on the Rancocas Creek in New Jersey. My grandparents had a small piece of land there, and my grandfather and father built three modest bungalows on the property. When my dad grew up and had kids, I along with my siblings called that getaway “The Bungalow.” Those weekends were filled with fun, canoe rides, fireflies, and campfires—simple and a little magical.
Years later, when I married my husband, Billy Bold, “Bold Bungalow” felt like the perfect fit—blending the nostalgia of that place with the strength, warmth, and boldness of the life we’ve built together.
That same spirit—handmade charm, meaningful warmth, and lasting impressions—guides every Bold Bungalow creation.
Vision & Values
At Bold Bungalow, our vision is rooted in something timeless: human connection. In a world that moves fast and often feels detached, we want to slow things down. We believe in the power of a handwritten note—sent not for an occasion, but simply to say “I’m thinking of you.” We believe in the warmth of a flickering candle—chosen not from a shelf of sameness, but from a place of care, beauty, and intention.
We want our products to stir nostalgia for a simpler time—a time when people were present with each other, when conversations were heartfelt, and gestures were genuine. Our hope is that every Bold Bungalow card or candle is a small but meaningful invitation to return to those values, to connect with others in an authentic, loving way.
We are guided by the belief that quality cannot be rushed. Each item we make is crafted thoughtfully and personally—not mass produced. We source our paper from a historic Italian mill founded in 1260, known for its sustainability and commitment to excellence. Our raw materials are primarily sourced from trusted U.S. makers who share our care for quality and environment.
Above all, Bold Bungalow is about warmth. We see every customer as a friend. We believe in kindness, in treating everyone as an equal, and in honoring the quiet beauty of everyday moments shared. When you send a Bold Bungalow gift, it’s not just about what’s inside the box—it’s about what’s behind it: care, intention, and connection that endures.
Meet the Maker
Hello, I’m Lizabeth Kujawa Bold—founder, maker, and the heart behind Bold Bungalow.
I grew up on a farm where early mornings and honest work shaped me. That rhythm stuck: I still start before sunrise—workout done, bed made—because discipline and pride set the tone for the day.
I love meeting people and creating things that connect us—whether it’s a thoughtfully hosted event or the soft glow of a candle at home.
What moves me most is giving new life to something timeless: the handwritten note. And our natural, hand-poured candles that gently fill a room with light, comfort, and character. Small gestures with big meaning—they say, “You matter.”
Every piece is my own design, made by hand in small batches. Nothing is rushed; every detail reflects simple beauty and quiet thoughtfulness. I want each Bold Bungalow gift to make someone feel seen, appreciated, and cared for.

We raised four extraordinary kids in a home that was often loud, chaotic, and full of love—and everyone who crossed our threshold knew they were welcome. That same spirit is at the heart of Bold Bungalow.
Our Story
Bold Bungalow started with a single handmade card. What began as a creative outlet grew into pressed-flower stationery and, later, natural candles - pieces made by hand to give, keep, and enjoy. We still craft everything in small batches in Delray Beach, using materials we trust. Visit our Test of Time page to see originals that have aged beautifully.
