Are your candles made from natural ingredients?
Yes, at Bold Bungalow, every item is made by hand with intention and care. Our candles are crafted from 100% soy wax produced in the United States, ensuring a clean, long-lasting burn. We use lead-free cotton wicks and phthalate-free, non-toxic fragrance oils—so you can feel good about what you're breathing in. Our greeting cards are created on premium Italian stationery and thoughtfully adorned with real dried flowers—each one a little different, just like the person receiving it. Whether you're lighting a candle or sending a note, you're choosing something personal, safe, and made with love.
How long is the burn time of the candles?
Our candles are designed to burn beautifully and last a long time when cared for properly. The 16 oz candles offer approximately 60–70 hours of burn time, while the 11 oz candles burn for around 40–50 hours. These burn times reflect ideal conditions:
- The candle is placed on a flat, stable surface.
- It’s kept away from drafts, ceiling fans, or open windows that can cause the flame to flicker irregularly.
- The wick is trimmed to ¼ inch before each use to help the wax burn clean and evenly.
First-Time Burn: Set the Stage for a Perfect Candle Life
To ensure your Bold Bungalow candle burns cleanly and evenly from the very first light, it’s important to let the top layer of wax fully liquefy on the first burn. This means allowing the melted wax to reach all the way to the edges of the container before extinguishing the flame.
This simple step prevents tunneling—a common issue where the flame burns straight down the center, leaving un-melted wax along the sides. A full melt pool creates a smooth, even surface and sets the memory for the candle’s future burns.
For Best Results:
- Plan to burn your candle for 1–3 hours during the first use, depending on its size.
- Keep it away from drafts, fans, or air vents.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
